Composition (1925) – Rudolf Koppitz
This post inspired by El Angel Caido, more on Koppitz here, Google gallery here. Rudolf Koppitz (1884 – 1936) was a photographer famous for his 1920s nude photography which gives some of the machine age aesthetic to the human body.
This phot shows the same sensibility as Tamara Lempicka’s paintings – same extreme athletic attenuation of the body and stylized makeup on the models .. it makes me think there may have been a working connnection between them, or maybe they travelled in the same intellectual/artistic circles?
Yes, the similarities are there. Could not find any connection except that they were near contemporaries.
