Michael Campbell (born January 1 1954 – died March 15, 2008), better known as Mikey Dread, was a Jamaican singer, producer and radio DJ, a one-time collaborator of Lee Perry and a member of Singers & Players.
I’m sorry to hear of Mikey’s death. I didn’t realise how young he was. I remember the first time I heard “African Anthem Dubwise” – what an ecstatic, ebullient, expansive record!!!! He sure has left a marvellous legacy and every record collection should contain at least one of his offerings.
