RIP Tony Conrad (1940 – 2016)

Tony Conrad was an American avant-garde video artist, experimental filmmaker, musician, composer, sound artist, teacher and writer. He was a pioneer of both structural film and drone music.

His best known film is The Flicker (excerpt above).
