I was hoping for a photo of Joysstick. But I see you are only up to the Je’s. Where’s Jean Paul Sartre?
Well, very industrious nonetheless!! And definitely appreciated here.
Jan, I finally got around to checking out these pics… lots of fun — thanks! Beautiful stuff.
I opened up (what I assume is) the album cover for Je t’aime… moi non plus. I looked this song up on YouTube and found this completely mesmerizing video (which I had to blog.) What a treat.
I read a little about this song on Wikipedia and found it interesting that this controversial song seems tame by today’s standards. More generally, lately I have been thinking about how our interpretation of any work is dictated largely by all the works we have experienced prior — “intertextuality,” maybe? Anyhow, if you think about how in the course of your life, your taste changes — perhaps through the 80’s, 90’s, etc — through different eras — I wonder to what extent this is only a one-way path we travel.
Is it possible to traverse this path backwards as much as forwards? I mean, it’s hard to imagine a 1969 conservatism following modern liberal sexuality — it seems this liberalization is a one-way affair. But for the rest of our artistic and social context, could you imagine a world where our cultural path would lead us to the 1980’s after where we are today?
Hopefully this made sense… maybe I was just rambling too much. Good luck on Eye Candy #15 🙂
that last image is beautiful

Nurse,
In case you did not know (but I gather you do) it’s Dalessandro and Birkin in Je t’aime moi non plus.
Dear Joy,
Pleased to meet you, sorry you did not find your stick. As for Sartre, I’m not a fan. I’ll prefer the work of Beauvoir. Especially in these days

It is indeed a wonderful film and track.
Thanks for the write-up.
