“PS. For those of you who miss the Jahsonic old style of haphazard blogging about anything he finds, please check Jahsonic’s microblog[10] at Tumblr.”

    …… a change of direction?
    – is this now to become RIPsonic?

I believe it is, I find the RIP thing strangely attractive, and on the other hand I find the microblogging very satisfying (also because I noticed that you are reading it).

The RIP thing allows me a structure to build the art and pop wiki, provides me with an occasion to go deeper into a certain field and to put different accents (however small) on the several vitae that will pass the revue (such as giving the reggae version of Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean”.

The microblogging thing reminds me of the earliest days of finding stuff and reporting on it.

One thing that will remain here is the “introducing …” of artists that haven’t been discovered by the blogosphere at large.

I hope I am not disappointing anyone.

While you’re here Paul, do you have any idea who the actress in the Monterey poster is. Probably from the silent era, searches on the net have been unsuccessful.

Meanwhile I’ve become increasingly satisfied with the wiki, which provides me to give fine and detailed accounts of phenomenae such as German satire and feed them to Tumblr.

Oh yes, Jahsonic will also continue to feature the Icons of Erotic Art series. Very Bataillan and appropriate, sex and death, wink wink.

Sorry Jan, I have no idea who the actress is. I had a look in a book of silent film stars and there were quite a few wearing very little but strings of pearls , : ) (Theda Bara, Gloria Swanson, etc), but not this one.
I looked up the poster on google images and found this….

….. you can buy a reprint of the poster signed by Country Joe McDonald himself!
